The vision for TUTC Kohima Camp was to create India’s first truly mobile luxury glamping experience, designed to operate within the ecologically sensitive landscape of Nagaland during the annual Hornbill Festival.
EuMo enabled TUTC to transform temporary hospitality infrastructure into a refined, transportable and immersive luxury ecosystem that balances environmental sensitivity, operational mobility and world-class guest experience.

The brief called for a hospitality experience that combined—
Sustainable low-impact tourism infrastructure,
Bespoke luxury accommodation in remote terrains,
Cultural contextualisation rooted in Nagaland’s identity,
Operational efficiency for seasonal mobility,
International standards of comfort and aesthetics.
The project also aimed to position TUTC within the fast-growing global sectors of luxury glamping, experiential tourism and sustainable hospitality.

The central insight was clear —
Luxury hospitality in remote landscapes must feel immersive, contextually rooted and environmentally respectful while remaining operationally resilient and transportable.
The project strategy focused on integrating mobility, sustainability, cultural authenticity and premium guest experience into one seamless system. Rather than functioning as a transient installation, the camp was conceived as a destination experience capable of delivering emotional connection, exclusivity and long-term operational flexibility.

Landscape and Environmental Response
Located within a densely wooded hilly terrain in Nagaland, the planning approach prioritised ecological preservation from the outset. Existing Alder tree forests were retained without disturbance, tent footprints were carefully positioned to avoid vegetation damage and locally sourced gravel pathways minimised site intervention.
The infrastructure was designed as a reversible system with minimal permanent alteration to the landscape, ensuring that the environment itself remained central to the guest experience while leaving behind a negligible ecological trace after dismantling.

Cultural and Spatial Experience
EuMo embedded regional identity into the hospitality experience through culturally informed spatial design. Community gathering spaces drew inspiration from the traditional Naga morung — circular sit-outs organised around fire pits that encourage interaction, storytelling and collective experience.
Architecture and interiors balanced luxury hospitality aesthetics with local material expression, modular construction logic, climatic responsiveness and ease of transport and reassembly. Every touchpoint was designed to feel intimate, authentic and elevated while reinforcing the experiential character of the destination.

Mobile Hospitality Engineering
The project demanded a high degree of logistical integration. Camp infrastructure transported across regions required every component to support repeated mobility without compromising premium hospitality standards.
EuMo developed modular assembly systems, knock-down furniture, custom transport packaging and durable material specifications capable of withstanding repeated deployment cycles. Efficient storage, dismantling and relocation logistics ensured that the camp could operate seasonally while maintaining consistency in guest experience and operational performance.
