EuMo designed TUTC Jagir Lodge, Dudhwa as a boutique luxury wildlife retreat that reimagines a historic hunting lodge into a contemporary hospitality experience rooted in forest living.
Located near Dudhwa National Park in Uttar Pradesh, the project transforms an existing heritage property into a refined wilderness destination. Comprising four elevated cottages crafted using local materials, the lodge blends rustic authenticity, modern comfort, and ecological sensitivity—offering guests an intimate, immersive experience within one of India’s most biodiverse forest landscapes.

The Ultimate Travelling Camp has consistently set benchmarks for experiential luxury hospitality across India’s most sensitive natural and cultural landscapes. With Jagir Lodge, the ambition was to elevate a legacy hunting lodge into a boutique wildlife destination that could deliver contemporary luxury while preserving the spirit of the place.
Rather than introducing a new architectural language, the project sought to strengthen what already existed enhancing comfort, durability and guest experience without diluting the place’s original character. EuMo was engaged to evolve the site into a refined retreat that felt authentic and deeply connected to the surrounding forest ecosystem.

Designing within a living forest context
The site sat within a dense ecological network connecting Dudhwa, Katarniaghat, Kishanpur and Dudhwa National Park. Any intervention needed to remain visually unobtrusive, ecologically responsible, and respectful of wildlife movement.
The challenge lay in introducing new accommodation and upgraded amenities while maintaining minimal site disturbance and preserving the raw, forested character that defines the region.
Reframing wilderness luxury
This insight shifted the design approach from contrast to continuity. Modern luxury was achieved not through visual excess, but through upgraded materials, precision detailing and performance that allows every guest touchpoint to feel premium while remaining grounded in local craft and context.

Vernacular-led masterplanning and spatial strategy
EuMo approached the site as a low-density, boutique retreat where architecture dissolves into the forest. Four elevated cottages were carefully positioned to maximise privacy, views, and airflow while maintaining visual openness to the landscape.
Circulation was designed as a gentle forest journey. Elevated Rhodesian teak walkways connect pairs of cottages, allowing guests to move seamlessly through the site without disturbing the forest floor. This strategy preserved ground ecology while enhancing the experiential quality of arrival and movement.

Crafted interiors and construction detailing
Interior spaces were delivered with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship and material integrity. Custom interlocking floors, precise joinery and thoughtful detailing ensured robustness without compromising visual softness.
The interiors reinforce a sense of elevated wilderness living where guests experience refinement through quality, proportion and tactile richness rather than ornamentation.
